This image was inspired by the theme of a Gnomon Workshop contest called "incubator". When I started to brainstorm ideas I was bouncing back and forth between two themes. The first theme was that of the "Flood" race from the Halo games. The second theme was an evil Nazi experiment feeling. I tried to mold the two ideas together. I really wanted to create something biological. I was able to have fun creating boils and veins using the easy workflow inside Zbrush.

The original ZBrush model was completed in about 4 hours.
